Rainforests!

The boys have settled back into the term well and have had another brilliant week!

During their Geography lessons, the boys learnt about different rainforests. They used a world map to identify the equator, Tropic of Cancer and Tropic of Capricorn. They then located different rainforests and discussed the features of a rainforest.  Following on from this, the boys wrote a piece of descriptive writing about the rainforest. They used their senses to think about what they would see, hear, smell and touch. During Grammar lessons, the focus was on adverbs. It has been excellent to see that this understanding has been applied to their writing.

For our science this week, we have started a new topic on materials. The boys discussed which materials are natural and which are manufactured, they then thought about the properties of different materials and how this impacts their use.

During our Maths lessons, we have been working on division and for our History lessons, the boys have been learning about what a monarch is and where they would live.

The boys also thoroughly enjoyed their Art lesson this week, where they designed parrots using tissue paper, as you can see, they are all extremely vibrant and creative!
