I have really enjoyed reading your class blog.  You obviously enjoyed handling the little chicks and I was very impressed with how kind and gentle you were.  I was also impressed to see you using iPads in lessons.

The boys in 2P were using a calendar to answer questions. Some boys found this a little tricky, so here are some extra questions to practise.

1. How many days are in January?
2. What day of the week is 17th January?
3. What day of the week is 29th January?
4. How many Mondays are in January?
5. How many Wednesdays are in January?
6. How many days are there in a year?
7. What is the date of Boxing Day?
8. Which months have thirty days?
9. Can you explain what happens during a leap year?
10. When is your birthday?

We were excited to visit the chicks yesterday. They will be coming to spend some time in our classroom next week! We have also been looking after some caterpillars which have just emerged as butterflies. We will be releasing them later next week.

In Art, the boys have been learning about Georges Seurat. They have started a piece of art work based on pointillism- using cotton buds to paint with! It will be a long project, which will require care and perseverance. Nevertheless, the finished product should look amazing. Hopefully they will be on display very soon.

2P hard at work using Purple Mash on the iPads. They were working with a partner to write instructions for our cress experiment in Science!
