Would you rather…

This week we read “Would you rather…” by John Burnigham.

There are a lot of different situations to discuss in this book and it has been great listening to all the boys discuss their thoughts. I have been encouraging them to form an opinion and to explain their ideas.

Then we made our own book based on “Would you rather…”. The boys have been enjoying taking their book to different classes and sharing it with the older / younger boys.

Pointillism

Today we found out about Georges Seurat.

He painted using a style called pointillism. Ask the boys how this differs to usual painting!

The boys have started a project where they are going to create their own piece of art using pointillism. They are looking good so far!

Fractions

This week we have been talking about fractions of shapes and numbers eg 1/4 of 100, 1/3 of 30, 2/3 of 12 etc
