Acrostic Poems

Year 2 have been working really hard on their acrostic poems for the harvest display. Please look out for them when you come to the harvest assembly on Friday.

I have been really impressed with the ideas the boys have had. If you would like to have a go at doing an acrostic poem at home, this link should be helpful

Your poem can be about anything. Have fun!

Vegetable Soup

Hopefully you will have received a little bag of chopped vegetables! Today the boys had the chance to practise their knife skills and prepared a selection of vegetables to make soup.

They all watched the link below.

We talked about the different stages of the recipe, we even added some extra celery! It would be great to see photographs of anyone who makes the soup. I would also be interested to hear a taste review! You will probably need to add some more vegetables to make a hearty meal. Some boys last year even chose to add pasta, they said it was delicious!

I hope you enjoy your soup.

Show and Tell

I just wanted to say thank you to everyone for all their efforts with Show and Tell. The boys have thoroughly enjoyed the sessions and the items that have been brought in have been perfect.

Show and Tell will continue to be a short and informal session throughout the year. Please do not worry about preparing long or complicated presentations as this is not necessary. All we ask is that the boys have some idea about the item they have brought in so they can say a few things about it. The boys get instant and verbal praise from myself and their classmates. We find works really well for building confidence levels.

Show and Tell is a fun time and enjoyed by all. Thank you so much for all your support  and I look forward to see what comes in next!
