Performing Poetry

Today the boys worked in a small group to perform a piece of poetry. They had to think about how they could make it sound and look interesting. They were all able to  change their voice, add sound effects and actions. They produced some excellent work!

The Great Bake Sale

Thank you to everyone who came to the Pre Prep Bake Sale yesterday. I am sure you will all agree that it was a huge success. The boys had lots of fun decorating the stall and selling the cakes. I hope you all enjoyed your cakes and biscuits!

Lazarus

Today we visited Lazarus. He is a Giant African Land Snail and he lives in the science lab! Mrs Craig told us lots of information about him. We know he is an invertebrate and a mollusc.

Crazy for collages!

In ICT this term, the boys will be making a digital collage all about themselves.  We will be using paint software along with digital cameras at school to capture all the things that make your sons unique.  To help them with this, please help your son to take up to five photographs at home of things that are special to him.  This could include favourite toys, books, games, or people.  The pictures do not need to have your son in them, if you prefer, they could just take pictures of objects.

Please email your photographs, with your son’s name in the subject line, to Miss Thomas (gthomas@lochinverhouse.herts.sch.uk)

Happy snapping!

Recycling

Welcome back!

This week we have been talking about Global Warming and what we can do to look after our planet.

Tomorrow the boys will be designing a “Recycloreptile”  (a reptile made from entirely from recycled materials!) and they will then make their model next week.

Please look in the Reading Record books tomorrow (Thursday) to see what your son will need to bring to make his model next week. All the required “junk” will need to be brought into school next Tuesday at the latest. Thank you!

Continuing on the recycling theme I thought you might like to see some of the instruments the boys created last half term!
